A big thanks to the kids from the South High Marathon Dance for stopping by all week long and for all they do for the community!
This year, the dance benefits 40 recipients, which is the most to date, and the chair tells me they expect to raise the most money too. Having gone last year, I can say first hand that it’s one thing to hear and read about, but you really owe it to yourself to check the event out. The amount of generosity, passion, and commitment is beyond words. It’s a tear-jerker for sure. If you can’t make it to the event, watch the stream on shmd.org. You can make donations on that page as well. It’s a wonderful thing that these kids do for our community. Follow the event on twitter @SHMDchair or #SHMD13.
To the right is my favorite picture from last year. You won’t understand the energy in the room until you get there. Totally awesome. Word is that this year there’s a giant (potentially glowing) octopus hanging from the center. I’m looking forward to it and hope to see you there!
Good luck SHMD!
